You want the whole valley at once
The balloon flight, around two hundred and sixty euros and rated 4.9 from 17 ratings, a small base. Three hours in all, of which roughly an hour in the air, launching from Cénac-et-Saint-Julien about three kilometres away, with pilot, ground crew, transfers and insurance in the price. The tour language is French, which two reviewers raise and this site repeats rather than buries. You are in Sarlat without a car

It does not go to Castelnaud, and its own exclusion list says so. The private tour, around a hundred and sixty-three euros and rated 5.0 from 33 ratings, a small base, is three and a half to four hours in a vehicle that is yours alone, picked up in Sarlat, Les Eyzies or Saint-Cyprien, with a guided hour inside a castle. You want to walk through a furnished castle too

It covers the castle, the exhibition on Beynac in the time of Richard the Lionheart and Eleanor of Aquitaine, and the bookshop, and it is valid one day from first use; under-tens go free and dogs on a lead are welcome. Beynac is the preserved, furnished fortress of the pair — 17th-century apartments, painted ceilings, a 13th-century kitchen — where Castelnaud is the restored ruin with a museum of medieval warfare inside it. From the Beynac terrace you look straight across at Castelnaud. Two castles, two different days.
